April 16 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
You are invited to our monthly “Research Café” for an hour of friendly, completely informal, yet inspiring conversation about our own research and, in general, research in the pandemic times. There will be no papers (this is the role of the Departmental Colloquium), no professional training (this is the role of the Professional Development Workshops), just the pure pleasure of sharing our latest ideas and perplexities around a virtual Zoom table and with a real cup of coffee in hand. What are the most exciting questions you think we should be asking in French-Francophone and Italian Studies? What gives you pleasure and what bothers you in your scholarly pursuits? How literary studies can fit into crossdisciplinary collaborations?
Our next confirmed meeting is Friday, April 16th from 3:00 pm to 4:00pm. Our previous meetings revolved around the following questions (none were preplanned) :
- why, in our research, are we interested in this question and not another?
- how our research is (or is not), should (or should not) be implicated with social issues and politics?
- how do we pace our writing?
- discussed reading habits related to our intellectual work
Bring a cup of coffee and hope to see you there!
