This exhibit features translations and other works from the Libraries’ collection that were written by speakers participating in the upcoming Burdick-Vary Symposium on “The Work of the Literary Translator. Ethics, Aesthetics, and Politics,” February 28, 2025, co-sponsored by the Department of French and Italian and the Institute for Research in the Humanities.

The book exhibit is also tied to the campus visit of Professor Martin Rueff (University of Geneva) as Halls Visiting Scholar, Saturday February 22nd to Sunday March 2nd, 2025. In addition to speaking at the symposium, Professor Rueff will be visiting French and Italian courses, meeting with students, and presenting a public lecture in French on February 26.
