The GAFIS Graduate Student Symposium, in its 28th year, provides a forum for intellectual and scholarly exchange in a positive collegial atmosphere. Interdisciplinary in nature, this national event gives future colleagues the chance to meet each other and to hear about current issues in upcoming research. Excellence and pertinence are assured through an anonymous and peer juried selection process.
This year’s symposium, titled Constraints, was held at the University of Madison-Wisconsin on Friday March 20 and Saturday March 21, 2015.
The Keynote address was delivered by Professor Douglas Hofstadter (Indiana University) on Friday March 20.
