WELCOME! The GAFIS Graduate Student Symposium, now in its 27th year, provides a forum for intellectual and scholarly exchange in a positive collegial atmosphere. Interdisciplinary in nature, this national event gives future colleagues the chance to meet each other and to hear about current issues in upcoming research. Excellence and pertinence are assured through an anonymous and peer juried selection process.

 

This year’s symposium, Negotiating Aesthetic Hierarchies: the Creative Tension between High and Popular Culture, will be held at the University of Madison-Wisconsin on Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12, 2014.
