French 102 is the continuation of French 101 and is intended for students with limited study of French (e.g., 1-2 years of high school level study). Course goals focus on developing interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational communicative skills and cultural awareness of the French-speaking world. Topics explored in the course include travel, fashion, media, and housing.

This course is meant to be a workshop where students will be able to evaluate and develop materials and activities for language instruction. Students will be responsible for readings, discussion, development of some lesson plans and assessments. Advanced course in French grammar and style, with a special focus on various critical and professional applications. For students in the Professional French Masters Program.
Representative French-language films will be studied from an esthetic and a cultural perspective. Choice of themes and periods studied will vary, and may range from historical surveys to a close examination of films from a particular time or place.
